Paris 75005, Latin Quarter/Rue de Bievre, you will find this wonderful house of 650m² + 50m² patio with a retractable glass roof.
Strategically located between the banks of the Seine and Place Maubert.
A beautiful private mansion dating back to the beginning of the 17th century, with a lift facilitating movement between the 3 floors, the mezzanine and the two 13th century vaulted basements, which have been converted into a gym, sauna, indoor swimming pool and a very large temperature controlled wine cellar.

A rare haven of peace in the heart of the left bank, this charming historic Maison Bourgeoise built in stone, atypical in its layout and retaining most of it's original features, some of which are documented in the Carnavalet Museum, was last renovated and remodelled in 2001 when money was no object and has been superbly maintained since then, but now requires a touch of modernisation.
Mostly air-conditioned and built as an atrium within, it is composed of a welcoming entrance hall, along with several living areas, comprising of:

- reception room
- living room with cathedral ceiling
- library with fireplace
- dining room
- study
- music room.
- flowered courtyard ideal for dining al-fresco
- planted terrace with a view towards Notre-Dame and the roofs of Paris
PLUS
- 7 bedrooms
- 6 bathrooms
- several dressing rooms and wardrobes
- 40m² fully equipped kitchen
- linen room
- service flat

Offering a certain comfort and benefiting from tranquillity, this wonderful house is located in the heart of a very Parisian district which has retained it's old-fashioned charm and warm atmosphere with small cobbled streets and local shops, it's market and unmissable cafés, cocktail parties, brunches, bistro and gastronomic cuisine.

The period features include the Renaissance staircase with its original balusters and double quarter turn staircase with openings onto the patio, original doors, woodwork and the coping of the well, which form some very well preserved relics.
In addition to the 17th century wrought iron window sills and cross-glazed windows, there is a carriage entrance with a semi-circular lintel - the illustration of which by Jules Adolphe Chauvet is preserved in the Carnavalet Museum.
Also preserved in the museum is an illustration, leaning against an interior façade wall, titled "the Brinvilliers well" by Georges Henri Manesse.
The entrance is paved with stone, the walls and passages are highlighted by stone columns with sculpted capitals, the exposed beams give the vestibule a medieval character, a few round-headed bays and other basket-handle bays punctuate the passages on the ground floor, three bay windows on each level open onto the patio and light up the rear part of the house.

Built over 4 floors, this 1640 stone built mansion is located in the administrative district of Saint-Victor, which includes 2 buildings.
The property is constructed on a plot of 145m² located 130m from Maubert-Mutualite metro station (L10) and 450m from Saint-Michel metro station (RER A & B). Self-service bike system 'Velib' nearby.

5th Arrondissement - The historic heart of the Latin Quarter has been a centre of scholarship and intellectual achievement for centuries and takes it's name from the Sorbonne, where Latin was the common tongue for all students during the Middle Ages.
This arrondissement is one of the oldest districts of the city where traces of the area's past survive in such sites as the Arènes de Lutèce, a Roman amphitheatre, and the Thermes de Cluny, a Roman thermae.
It remains a major draw thanks to sights such as the Pantheon, the Sorbonne University, and the botanical gardens known as the Jardin des Plantes.
The neighbourhood has the feel of a small village and students mix freely with professionals in it's winding streets.
The market street of Rue Mouffetard is a main route where shops, international restaurants, bars and cafes are found.
